To those concerned. I have lived in the close proximity area of the Steel Plant for over 50 years. It had always been a non- issue for pollution and very few furnace blowups.. Since Essar took over and now the construction of the Arc Furnace, the air has become I’m sure more toxic. With black particles floating in the air leaving residue on my house and vehicles and anything else outdoors. And it does not wash off easily . The odor is much more noticeable plus the huge brown plumes of smoke and chemicals that float overhead are ; just plain scary. Although I know health issues can be related to so many things but inhaling this black soot I’m sure is affecting the neighborhood in many ways.
