So if I understand this correctly. After reading section II, y"all want to eliminate public consultation so corporations that want to profit off of Ontario's resources which If I'm not mistaken belongs to the citizens of Ontario. So you want to take away our rights under the guise of "unleashing our economy" so that private corporations can profit off of resources in protected areas.
Are you guys ok?? Taking rights of citizens and the rights indigenous peoples to speak out against the pillaging of our natural resources because it will help our gdp. Letting private companies move fast and break things without any prior consultation is insane. If you want a prudent example look at what big tech has done to society with social media. Letting the genie out of the bottle without finding out who the genie is is always going to be dangerous and short cited.
I understand regulations are cumbersome and create barriers to progress but the barriers are there for a reason. To protect THE PUBLIC GOOD. I work in food manufacturing I fully understand how annoying regulations are.
This is absurd and is only going to lead to endless lawsuits when the ring of fire is dug up and destroyed. How does burning endless millions of taxpayer dollars defending your short sighted decision making in court
benefit the citizens of Ontario or the economy?? And who knows what environmental crimes can potentially be undetected until it's too late.
As long as your getting generous donations and gifts from lobbyists and corporations it's all good I guess because it could potentially help our gdp.. Shame on all of y'all, y'all can claim all you want in your advertisements that you work for the people and that's what you care about. But it's pretty dang clear that you serve big business and couldn't care less about the people. If you cared about the people you wouldn't be taking away our right to consult or our rights to sue you when cyclists inevitably get hit by cars when you remove the bike lanes. Which isn't going to help traffic. In the short term minor relief. But it will create induced demand and make traffic worse in the long run. Y'all can build all the highways no one wants it's not going to eliminate congestion. But you obviously don't care about that y'all just want to start chipping away the green belt.
