I am 80 years old and have lived in or near Dresden most of my life. I’ve seen this town grow, weather changes, and remain a strong, caring community. But I have never been more worried for our future than I am now with this ERO proposal looming so close to our homes.

This facility is being proposed just 800 feet from town—so close it’s hard to believe anyone would think that’s safe or responsible. It sits near a known aquifer, which is a critical source of clean water for many of us. If even a small amount of contaminants were to leak or spill, it could jeopardize the water we drink, cook with, and bathe in. You don’t get a second chance with groundwater once it’s polluted.

I’m also deeply concerned about the proximity to natural gas. Industrial operations so close to gas lines raise real safety risks—not just pollution, but potential for accidents or explosions. At my age, I’ve seen what can go wrong when safety takes a backseat to profit, and it’s always the nearby families who pay the highest price.

The increased truck traffic, noise, and air emissions that would come with this project are more than an inconvenience—they would make life in our quiet town unrecognizable. For seniors like me, and for the children growing up here now, that’s a loss too great to accept.

This facility does not belong in our backyard—not this close to our homes, our water, and our natural resources. Please, for the sake of our town and future generations, do not let this go forward.

Sincerely,
An 80-Year-Old Concerned Resident of Dresden
