I strongly object.
This Ontario Place project should NOT be exempt from Part II of the Environmental Bill
Of Rights, 1993. Not only does this project have very little benefit for the general public and cost tax payers a tremendous amount of money, but it should not damage our waterfront ecosystem further.
I expect as a taxpayer to be advised of required permits for the project and have an opportunity to comment.
This proposed amendment is to benefit private sector initiatives, and it is not in the public interest nor the interest of our environment. I am calling on the Government of Ontario to remove Schedule 8 of the new Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025.
