Weakening or ignoring this legal framework in the name of short-term profit undermines democratic participation and threatens the ecosystems that communities and industries alike depend on.

Only by upholding Part II of the EBR can Ontario foster a truly sustainable economy—one that balances ecological health with economic development. Long-term prosperity requires clean air, water, and land. Without these, industries like agriculture, tourism and even manufacturing will face mounting costs and irreversible damage.
