Bill 5 is a blatant power grab that would allow the government to sidestep essential environmental protections, workers’ rights, and meaningful consultation with local communities and Indigenous nations.

The “special economic zones” would let “trusted” insiders bypass provincial and municipal laws—laws designed to protect the environment, uphold local democracy, and ensure public accountability.

Bill 5 is not about building a better Ontario. It’s another attempt to sell off our province to the highest bidder.

Ontario deserves better. We can grow our economy and build responsibly — without sacrificing the places and people we care about most.

Bill 5 needs to be stopped!
