Bill 5 "Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act" is a classic example of meagre, short term gains at the expense of huge, long term destruction and impoverishment. It is obvious that, in Canada, protecting our natural environment is synonymous with protecting our economy. Bill 5 implies that the best way to improve our economy is by undermining the environment that sustains it. Such thinking can only be ascribed to either ignorance or corruption or both. I am strongly against Bill 5, as I am against any Bill that promotes the extinction of species and the destruction of land, all for just a little bit of money, for a few people, in the short term.
