I strongly object to the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights that would strip Ontarians of their right to be informed about and comment on permits related to Ontario Place.
The Bill exists to protect Ontario’s environment for future generations. Thousands have voiced valid concerns about the fragile waterfront ecosystem and offered thoughtful, reasonable alternatives to current plans. Ignoring this public input not only weakens environmental oversight but also undermines democratic rights in favor of private, foreign interests. This proposal is not in the public interest and further erodes environmental protections at a time of global climate and biodiversity crises.
