Regarding EBR Registry #’s: 013-4239 and 013-4125.

I am opposed to this “Open for Business Planning Tool” for the following reasons: This proposed tool will download the Province’s responsibility to protect our water sources, local food supply, and natural environment. It will allow municipalities to circumvent current, protective, Provincial legislation and open up the Greenbelt and the Oak Ridges Moraine for development. These protected lands are vital to our water quality and quantity for the Province. These lands are also protected to provide a sustainable, local food source for the Province. There are many other long-term benefits to our quality of life which these lands provide. The development of these lands will temporarily create jobs, income, and tax dollars for Ontario but the immediate gain will be overtaken by the permanent and irreplaceable losses to our quality of life and natural environment. There are other lands which are available for development. Please use them.
