As an Ontario resident I do not support this proposed bill. I will not allow my tax dollars to destroy the Ontario I love and am proud of. I’m disappointed my government is creating bills to cut corners when it comes to a development. This is not what the people want and it’s screaming corruption. We elect our government to serve us and our priorities not to use our tax dollars to line their own pockets.
Unleashing our economy does mean developing a water front mega spa at the hand of 100’s of endangered species it’s not what Ontario is about and its embarrassing. This development benefits no one but to make the men building it richer, there are so many other issues that need tacking, this land belongs to the people not Doug Ford.
Bill 5 is a dangerous rollback of biodiversity protections in our province. Repealing the Endangered Species Act strips away the cornerstone of the environmental legislation that leaves a crumbling foundation for future recovery of endangered species. This is not red-tape reduction; it’s environmental deregulation with no accountability at the cost of species extinctions and long-term ecological collapse.
I’m holding the Ontario government to account to fulfill its duty to future generations through strong protections for species at risk that safeguard wildlife and nature.
