This proposed bill is not only an attempt to consolidate power, it is an attempt to entirely avoid the government’s responsibility owed to the people of Ontario, as well as disregard the constitutionally guaranteed Indigenous Rights and the requirement to consult in good faith with Indigenous communities on their traditional, unsceeded land.

The article attached to this comment, written for the Narwhal, explains bill 5 and if passed, the devastating effects it will have in Ontario, on its people and on its land. I believe the article provides an important perspective that must be read and its points taken with great importance.
