I would suggest that Ontario also consider adding foreign produced biomass based diesel made from Canadian feedstocks to its domestic blend requirements. This could provide some significant value for Canadian canola crushers as well as Canadian tallow and other waste oil feedstock producers that may benefit from marketing their feedstocks into foreign markets.

The CFR program requires data on the feedstock origin so reporting would be fairly simple and, because the CFR program requires independent 3rd party verification, carries a low risk for bad actor participation.
