To All Concerned...
I have been employed by Biox, a Hamilton based biodiesel producer, for the last 13 years. As both the Unifor Union Chairperson and the Co-chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee I am in position to understand the dynamics behind the shuttering of production at our Plant in December, 2024. The full stop of production is a direct result of the American policy changes and escalation of the trade war. Currently, all Unionized workers are laid off. I fully support the proposed policy changes as they are intrinsic to securing a fully supported Canadian bio-fuel industry. Please understand the urgency for action that is required, for Ontario in particular, to become self sufficient in the current energy struggle.
