The crown lands should remain crown land and not be sold to Wasaga Beach. While understanding the reasons, this change will not be beneficial for local community residents and will become less desirable.
The management of a highly tourist area and historical sites is beyond the town’s capacity and will essentially cost tax payers more. This is redundant and costly. Attracting only people of wealth and losing the diversity of classes; which is what Wasaga Beach is known for.
Should beach 1 and 2 become municipal property, it will lack continuity with the remaining provincial beaches and cause confusion and problems for locals and tourists.
This is a summary of my thoughts without going into too much detail. A survey or petition should be released to all residents to vote in this matter.
