I absolutely approve of moving Nancy Island! This historic site is being left to ruins where it is . We see the beautiful villages of St Marie among the Huron and Discovery Harbour and weep for our historic Nancy Island. For many years letters have been submitted and petitions gathered to move it from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to the Ministry of Tourism. Please please save our Nancy!
I do NOT approve of the transferring ownership and responsibility of Beach Areas One and Two to the town, along with New Wasaga and Allenwood. My concern is all our natural areas will become private. That this council will find a way to privatize parts of the beach for their benefit. When we see a few spots (one owned by the CAO’s mother) along Allenwood how can we be certain it will not go thru the same process to privatize it as they have done before to land that was sold with the explicit promise to remain public?
