I wholeheartedly support the City of Hamilton's request for a Minister's Zoning Order to permit plans for urgent residential housing development of the Jamesville property in Hamilton's North end. We have had a housing emergency in Hamilton since before I moved here in 2014, and this property has been vacant and deteriorating for years. We need this development now. The City has demonstrated its ability to build now housing quickly and effectively with its recent successful development of 82 units of housing at Queenston and Main. Its proposal to build 475 units in Jamesville needs to be expedited urgently. The Minister's prompt Zoning Order could help expedite that process. I urgently encourage this Zoning Order to be approved and issued as quickly as possible.
