Honourable Minister,

This comment is in reference to ERO# 025-0807, involving the mayoral request to develop the land at 405 James Street North into affordable housing.

Nationally, provincially and municipally, there is an undeniable crisis of housing affecting our citizens. In downtown Hamilton especially, we as a community see the effects of this issue on a daily basis. Our houseless neighbours have very little (and increasingly scant) resources available to them for upward mobility, and often these institutional shortcomings subsequently fall at the feet of the local respective neighbours to mitigate in whatever way we can.

Affordable housing would be a life line for the community and a net benefit for the neighbourhood, and I'd strongly implore the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to consider moving forward with the request for the betterment of the City of Hamilton for all it's residents.
