I’m very excited about this…

I’m very excited about this proposal! I’ve been rock climbing for over 10 years, and it’s a huge part of my life, for my physical health, mental well-being, and sense of community. I met my husband in a Toronto climbing gym, and our first date was at Rattlesnake Point.

Ontario has very limited access to climbable rock, so retaining Devil’s Glen as a climbing destination would be incredible. In the past, we’ve had to travel out West or abroad to pursue our sport due to these limitations. Having more areas open up in our own backyard would allow us to spend more time here doing what we love.

From my experience, climbers have a deep respect for nature. We care about conservation and preserving the places we climb so that future generations can enjoy them too. The proposed expanded parking lot at Devil’s Glen would also be a welcome improvement, providing safe and convenient access . Build it, and climbers will come — respectfully.
