I am not in favour of the proposed addition of 43 ha from the St Williams Conservation Reserve to Turkey Point Provincial Park.
This area is already protected as a conservation reserve, there are no buildings or significant trails or amenities or features that make it contiguous with the Provincial park on the opposite side of the road. The area does not follow any natural boundaries, topographical constraints- marking the park boundary in this area from the conservation reserve will be difficult, particularly as this area is used by hunters for the controlled deer hunt. How will hunters know the boundary between the now expanded park and conservation reserve?
Having first hand knowledge of walking through these lands many times, and a detailed familiarity with the area through hiking, biking and hunting in these lands, the proposed boundary is not logical at all. the current boundary is much more appropriate.
