I oppose the plan to repeal the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 and all associated regulations by December 31, 2021. The proposal will eliminate more than duplication with the federal program. As with everything, it is the details that are critical. The Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 is in some key ways more comprehensive than the federal program. The protection of the environment must take precedence over reducing the perceived burden to industry. The cost of losing the safeguards of the current Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 is simply too high for the perceived benefit of reducing some "red tape".
