Environmental deregulation to ostensibly reduce the regulatory burden by repealing the Toxics Reduction Act is the same thinking that resulted in the Walkerton tragedy under the Harris government. Lire davantage

We should not be repealing this act. That is dangerous for the health environment and the health of the public. Please do not repeal the Toxics Reduction Act.

I think the only changes to make to the use of toxic chemicals in our province is to strengthen legislation, not repeal it. I do not think there is a case to be made for the repealing of this legislation and I do not support this in the slightest. This is negligent and wrong.

Every province has their own unique landscapes hence the need for separate protections from the federal ones. Other provinces do not border the Great Lakes or sit beside an ocean. Ontario needs regulations on toxic reduction in addition to the federal regulations. Lire davantage

I am very disappointed with this proposal it opens the citizens of this province to be poisoned by big business. The toxin reductions act is a critical protection for our waterways and environmental but also the people of Ontario or should I says folks? Lire davantage

This is unbelievably dangerous and is absolutely wrong. Putting the lives of the citizens of Ontario and the nature we love at risk for the sake of corporations is depraved. This act should never be repealed. It should be reinforced.

I am vehemently opposed to this repeal. It is unbelievable what the provincial government has been doing the past few months, this is just another step backwards and another regulation loosened for the benefit of large, polluting companies. I am appalled at the short-sightedness of this party. Lire davantage

The country is too large to enforce its own toxics reduction bans, and Ontario has stricter guidelines than Canada at large. This is a good thing, meaning that we are more protected. Lire davantage

Toxic substances are poisonous to humans, animals and the environment. Corporations and businesses who deal with these substances need monitoring by the government. They cannot be trusted to do what is best when money and shareholders are involved. Lire davantage

Reducing requirements for adherence to toxic substances guidelines is never a good idea. To imply that this is merely a duplication of paperwork with federal requirements is negligent. Lire davantage

Inexcusable! As someone with a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Public Policy and a research program focused on wildlife physiology, including wildlife toxicology, it is my expert opinion that the repeal of this act is detrimental to the current and future health of the environment and our future. This is a stupid idea. The damage resulting is not probable but certain based upon well founded scientific data.

This isn't about "red tape", it's about giving rich corporations carte blanche to put toxins in the environment, which negatively impacts wildlife, agriculture and food supply and human beings. Please put real Ontarians first, not Corporations! Lire davantage
