An expert that reviewed the design brief noted that plant operations will play a major role in performance. The way the facility is operated and maintained by the owner and their contracted wastewater operator will directly influence effluent quality. Even proven technologies can underperform if influent assumptions are incorrect or if operational oversight is insufficient.

My husband and I were fired from the ski hill after my husband sent a very civil and professional e-mail to the managers about some safety concerns. Instead of trying to talk to him about his concerns they fired him with no discussion at all. And then even though I didn't send the letter they fired me too because they were so mad at my husband. I reminded them that we do a training at the beginning of every Ski season that teaches all the employees that it is not only our right but our responsibility to report safety concerns and that it is illegal to be fired for reporting safety concerns. They didn't care. We reported it to the Ministry of Labor and they did an investigation where they found that they were operating without a health and safety representative and didn't have required safety information posted.

A major part of my husband and I's concerns with the work we were doing came from a work related accident my husband witnessed the year before where a fellow employee almost died. When we reported the ski hill to the Ministry of Labor the following year we discovered that the ski hill had not reported the accident even though by law they are suppose to.

All this is to say even if the waste water treatment facility is technically safe, I do not trust the ski hill to operate it safely. They fire anyone that questions safety and are left with employees that either don't care or don't know any better. Or they are left so under staffed that the few people still working are over worked and not performing optimally leading to mistakes and accidents.
