I would very much like to see the former rail bed running through Lanark County turned into a bicycle walking path. The County of Lanark has plans underway to turn it into a 'multi use' trail combining snowmobiles and walkers in the winter and ATV or all terrain vehicles and walkers during summer months. There are already snowmobile trails in the area - and a dearth of walking/hiking trails. Portions of the rail bed run through the hearts of Almonte (pop. 4000) and Carleton Place (pop 11000 and growing. The County would likely be swayed by provincial funding toward a non-motorized trail. Please help!!
