Our community greatly values all the resources that the MOT is putting into improving cycle infrastructure. Our community is putting resources into trails and river walks and we also envision more dynamic cycling opportunities via improved infrastructure.
Our roads need work in order to become more cycling friendly, therefore this has led me to the conclusion that focusing on improving our existing non-road assets makes a great deal of sense. We have the Elora Cataract Trailing running through our two major villages, Erin and Hillsburgh, with our location being close to the middle of the Rail Crossing. It would make for a great stopover point for cycling tourists going from one end to the other.
It would be great to see improved signage on the trails at all road crossings. Also, it would be greatly beneficial to have Rail trails safely connected from Goderich to Midland so that a marketable cycling tourism route could be created along this corridor. Right now there is a major void in the central area of this region.
Thank you again for considering the expansion of resources to the Town of Erin cycling infrastructure.
