My issue is who will such a assessment process reconcile itself with the interests of First Nations? There are at a minimum 8 First Nations within the GGH area and based on historic treaty relationships and the inherent rights how will the municipal need for land balance with the First Nations needs for protection of gathering sites, assurance that archaeological sites are protected, that water quality and the fishery is maintained looking out; how can the province grow if First Nations needs, their land requirements, their healthy living requirements, their sustenance needs, are not factored in?

That is what many of us ask ourselves at the First Nation level. How will 3 or 4 more million people be accommodated and how will our First Nations communities and our traditional and treaty lands hold up against that human pressure? This is a very real question that no one can answer.
