Archaeological heritage is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, and archaeological consulting is a large creator of jobs in Ontario. Reducing the role of archaeological consultants in the name of streamlining things for housing developers would be a grave mistake. Some of the language in the policy statement is troubling. Archaeology and cultural heritage is vital to Ontario and its people, both Ingidenous and Euro-Canadian.
