The fines under the Nutrient Management Act are far too light. The fines should be aligned with those of the other regulations. Furthermore, the Source Water Protection Act should also be included in this package with comparable fines. Once an aquifer is lost, it is lost forever. Farmers should not be exempted from these fines.
