Lol wut? This is a terrible plan. Why are we fining polluters LESS than before? How is a fire sale on pollution fines going to deter them from polluting? This plan is basically a carte blanche for on an environmental massacre.
The proposal in Schedule 9 of Bill 132 to eliminate daily fines and cap total fines is unacceptable because it will mean industries can get away with a one time fee of $200,000 per contravention instead of $100,000 per day.

I think eliminating daily fines for pollution is a mistake. Only having fines-per-incident will remove any incentive for the guilty party to stop what they are doing, or reduce the timeline of the offence.

Please don't change anything. I know Conservatives value only money and having businesses make more money but we are in a end-of-life scenario. There isn't time for messing around. This already has bad press and it is all over that you are helping the polluters.
