This is unconscionable. I know Conservatives don’t believe in science and refuse to believe that climate change is real, so I don’t even know if my comment will mean a single thing to you people. But changing the fine for polluting from $100K per day to a one-time penalty if $10,000 is appalling. That’s not a deterrent at ALL.
Oakville, like many other cities, towns and countries around the world, has declared a climate emergency. My little town understands the gravity of the crisis we’re facing. That the provincial government is either too greedy or too ignorant to do the same and to fight to protect this fragile planet in every way possible is beyond the pale.
You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Surely you saw how Scheer’s refusal to act on climate change impacted his campaign. Surely you see how important this issue is to Canadians.
Thank God Ford is such a complete disaster that he will be a one-term Premier who will end up crawling back into his mom’s basement in two years. The world needs progressive, intelligent leaders who will do all they can to protect the planet.
No one needs Doug Ford and his greedy band of climate change deniers and yes men.
