Regarding: Proponent: 604840 Ontario Inc. at 9 Island Park Road, Trent Hills Ontario Jan 31, 2018 Comments on Proposal from Michele Peach My understanding is the proposed location for the new septic bed, tanks and chambers is on or near the existing “open field ballpark” or “ballpark” at Island Park. I would strongly object to the septic location as it is well known that the ballpark floods just about every year in the spring. I have also seen this flooding and the last thing we need is for the septic to experience problems resulting in drainage to the river. We know that the ball park has very poor drainage as we can clearly see from the annual flooding. That ballpark location is way too close to the Trent River as well as too close to a side inland water channel on the west side of the property. We are already seeing algae blooms getting worse every year in the Trent River and locating a septic system that will service hundreds of people and their families and visitors throughout the summer, so close to a waterway which a majority of people who live along the river draw their drinking water, from is not acceptable. I encourage the Ministry of Environment, Lower Trent and other parties to relocate the proposed septic system on the north-east side of the property – the furthest from the water. I would also like to encourage all parties to do the right thing and ensure that the owners of Island Park be held accountable for their years of inaction and lack of compliance to resolve this quickly.
