As per the Globe and Mail article cited below, Canada's water supply needs strict regulation and protective measures now. While the this framework (and the associated review and research that went into it) are promising and helpful, it is absolutely critical that bottling water is very strictly regulated. Municipalities certainly have the ability to make fairly well informed decisions about their own water supplies; however, whether or not they make the safest or most sustainable choice depends on adequately strict guidelines being put in place by the province.
