Community support should be required for smaller water takings. Within stressed areas like Centre Wellington, the threshold should be reduced to 50,000L per day. If we expect the population growth in the area to be maintained the province needs to ensure that water service is provided to new residents.
The township of Centre Wellington is not a willing host community for commercial water taking at the expense of the well being of residents.
