The well being of the land and it's indigenous peoples should be a primary consideration - raping the land of it's resources and displacing indigenous people and disrespecting the treaties and their way of life should be of great concern to everyone - the land has taken hundreds of years to become into its biodiversity and can never be returned to the same state once it has been destroyed for the sake of commerce. Treaty areas and territories in which indigenous peoples reside should be kept for future generations in the natural state that they are meant to be in and tended to by the peoples who belong to said lands - It is morally wrong in a contemptible manner to deny the indigenous peoples their rights and over due compensations - even more so to destroy land (treaty lands in particular) for profit - How many lives are forever damaged because of this systemic and viral destruction brought about by industry for monetary gain by those who do not even understand the connection of the indigenous peoples and the lands on which they reside. When the natural lands and animals are gone - when there is no more oil to be bled, no more ore to shred - when there are no more trees and no clean water for anyone - then what? There will be nothing left and the land will become barren and even those whose only purpose in life was to build up their monies - will turn to the Indigenous peoples and beg them to once again teach them how they "should have" tended to the lands - but it will be too late and all will suffer as a result of so much greed.
