Further development in the greenbelt will increase impervious areas that will increase the amount of flow that runs into Lake Ontario. The GTA is already seeing devastating problems with flooding from streams that start within the greenbelt and it will only become worse with climate change. Further development just accelerates this.

The housing in the GTA is here and available; too many condos and apartments are sitting empty as foreign investors profit when locals cannot find affordable housing.

This kind of development is not progression when it is not sustainable.
