This is a short-sighted plan purporting to solve a long-term issue. In 3-4 decades, when Canada has a significantly larger population, we will heavily rely on arable land like the Greenbelt to produce enough food.

Covering up agriculturally rich land with cheaply-built condos and townhomes is a recipe for disaster by 2080. Why are there no new planned communities in the Canadian Shield, protecting the Greenbelt for future generations? Why the myopic obsession with continuing to shove people into the GTA?
