We are in a climate crisis — in what universe does destroying protected wet lands and disrupting entire ecosystems make sense? We are also in a housing crisis — my husband and I gross $130k and can’t afford to buy anything, we rent a shoebox and can’t save enough for a down payment. But I do not believe that destroying protected lands will do anything to solve the housing crisis. I am certain however that Doug Ford’s many friends in development (including those who have “donated” to his political party) will be quite pleased with the opportunity to profit. Ah, capitalism. I hope you’ve all enjoyed yourself. Collapse is here and we will all suffer, but of course, the poorest will suffer the most.
