It is important not to remove any lands from the Greenbelt. If anything, we should be adding land to it (without taking any away). More protected areas for wildlife, biodiversity, and natural spaces are crucial for the health of Ontario's people and environment. If there is a shortage of places to build, why not try converting commercial or office space into high-density housing? We have a lot of issues with urban sprawl and traffic as it is. Condensing our footprint and building up would help both our natural environment as well as avoiding more urban sprawl. For these reasons, our household would not be in favour of this proposed amendment to the Greenbelt.
