As a resident of Ontario who is currently priced out of owning a home, housing is an important issue. However, the Greenbelt should remain a protected area. Allowing housing in the Greenbelt will not fix the housing crisis or affordability crisis. Changing how we use existing municipal lands is a better alternative. Look at density, zoning, and better city planning rather than mowing down an area that contributes to climate resilience and important ecosystems. Leave the Greenbelt green.
