There are plenty of ways to provide affordable housing that DON’T destroy one of our most precious features of Canada. Green space is vital, not only to people who enjoy and want to preserve our beautiful land but also to the unique and beautiful flora and fauna. Canada and Ontario are known for their beautiful landscapes, and it’s a point of national pride. To destroy that would be the ultimate disservice to the people. Ford has provided zero compelling evidence for the “necessity” of this plan. Why not utilize the numerous vacant spaces like office buildings in cities to provide housing? Those looking for affordable homes won’t be able to live in these million dollars mansions being built for Ford’s developer buddies, nor will they want to. Ontarians do not want this, and if it goes through it will destroy any remaining concept of trustworthy government in Ontario.
