The approach to allowing some development is sound. Building near existing infrastructure and on the perimeter is also prudent. Adding additional land within the greenbelt in more sensitive areas is a great way to continue to preserve.
The Government proposal includes land in King Township east of Dufferin, west of Bathurst and south of Green Lane. This corridor between Bathurst and Dufferin should be extended much farther south adjacent to Aurora's dense developments and south to King Side Road.
Aurora already has dense housing and infrastructure east of Bathurst Street. King Township has existing developments including Fairfields on Dufferin and King Riding on the west side of Bathurst.
The intensification should NOT necessarily be for a high volume of town homes etc. but rather, a continued approach to larger properties such as a half acre to 2 acres. This can still allow for a preservation of a significant portion of the existing existing privately held land within the corridor.
Thank you.
