I strongly oppose this…

I strongly oppose this proposal. The Greenbelt needs to be protected in the 15 areas slated to have Greenbelt protections removed. This is important for helping providing clean air to citizens in densely populated areas, green space for wildlife, and a wide range of ecosystem services. Build on lands outside of the Greenbelt, develop cities farther away from Toronto. Ontario is big - there is more than enough land farther North and West that can be developed. Yes, Ontario’s population is growing but people will leave the GTA for more affordable housing in other towns and cities. Also, start repurposing office buildings for affordable housing. There are so many other solutions available besides attacking the Greenbelt. Get creative and stop exploiting protected land.
