I'm a math teacher in this province because I care about how the children of Ontario will grow up to be kind and wise with the skills they develop. I'm also at the start of my career and like many young adults, the dream of home ownership drifts further and further away. This expansion into the greenbelt is a sinister attack on the next generations of this province and the young people who live here. The campaign lie to not develop the greenbelt and the suspicious awarding of contracts and purchase of land to developers with connections to Doug Ford cannot be tolerated by any MPP sitting in Queen's Park today and every day moving forward. Remember your mandate to lead is a small percentage of total eligible voters and be humble in the decisions you make for the entire province.

My students are suffering even now, as teenagers, worried for their future in this province. They know that this land development will not create affordable housing and will destroy large swaths of green space in a world quickly being destroyed by climate change and politicians overstepping their mandates. I ask that all MPPs take a step back and reevaluate their purpose, the people they stand for, and the conflicts of interest that are a clear red flag in this government.

Please do not develop the green belt. Please protect nature. I am not just one person pleading but representing my school of 500+ young people who are growing up in this province. Please help us, you are killing us. We can't afford Ontario, we can't live in Ontario, you are handing us a slow death in Ontario.
