This proposal is absolutely counter to the advice provided by the affordable housing tax force. A shortage of land is not the problem. Why did taxpayers fund a tax force of experts if you do not listen to them? Also very concerned about media reports that top political donors are the financial beneficiaries of the transaction and of course the huge environmental impacts of developing on the greenbelt (something which government officials are on the public record saying they would never do).
The whole thing seems dishonest and corrupt. Ontario has a shortage of housing, but this is not the solution. Please rethink it and listen to the advice you have been given.
