While we are facing increasing stress on our wetlands and green spaces our governments should not be looking claw back these spaces and claim they are adding more by designating areas already green or farm land as protected. Our current PC government has shown to be poor stewards of our natural spaces and an arrogant approach to infrastructure. We have a tangible and imminent threat to our environment that climate change has manifested in devastating ways.

The recent decision to build Hwy 413 is an example of the Ford governments lack of vision and adhering to it's own professional planners advice in the name of more asphalt that will not provide any traffic easing or control benefits and only invite more traffic into already highly congested tributary roads and highways. Our growth needs to be much slower and organic to assure we have the infrastructure and services in place before tilting the dump truck.

Overall the Ford Government is proving to be short sighted and shows no creative solutions to the real issues. To look to claw back green spaces to try to stuff another 1.5M new homes (how many people is that???) in the GTA area is ludicrous considering the lack of infrastructure and services that we are experiencing.

Tell me what the plan is to fix our health care and education systems that have fallen under attack by this government. How is it that a government that is overseeing an exodus of healthcare professionals, a reduction of services, huge delays in access to diagnostics that are all stressing these systems to the point where people are dying needlessly is going to support another 1.5M new homes when you can't support our population now.

How is it that a government that is seeing reduced staffing and support for our teachers and schools is going to stuff 1.5M more home into an already broken system and expect a better outcome.

The salary and resource battle being waged unfairly and irresponsibly by our current PC government only exasperates already stressed and eroding crucial public services and you concern is more housing for developers to enjoy the benefits of without the investment in our existing communities and citizenry.

I see this whole effort as a transparent land grab by a government bankrupt of ideas and solution and looks to put up smoke screens by hiding their failures behind other efforts that amount to no more than distractions from the real problems. It has become clearer to me that the PC government is not looking out for the best interest of Ontarians' and is looking to boast it's popularity by trying to grab low hanging fruit by building more houses and pat themselves on the back for their bold plans while our education and health care systems deteriorate into non-functional services. I further feel that the PC plan is to privatize health care because addressing the problem and coming up with appropriate solutions is too hard and beyond the competency of this government.

Shame on me for voting for Ford and the PC's twice. It won't happen again.

Sincerely,

Disappointed Ontarian
