I DO NOT support building on…

I DO NOT support building on the green belt. Building on the Greenbelt will only harm the environment, kill protected and endangered species, cause flooding, cause more traffic congestion and more emissions from these vehicles. Not to mention this are included farmland which we desperately need to grow local food which is better for the environment and also a necessity as supply chain issues have shown us. Further, building on the Greenbelt will only provide minimal housing for rich people who can afford single family homes. It has been proven again and again single family homes are not the way to solve the housing crisis or climate change. We need to build vertically near transit. However, there needs to be more regulations to include larger units (2 and 3 bedroom units, etc.) included in these builds so they become viable places to raise a family and live long term. The government also needs to increase the amount of affordable housing provided in these builds and importantly ensure there is enough green space and park land near these builds. Ontario already has more than enough land available to make this a reality. Stop pandering to the developers. We can ALL see why they bought this protected land ahead of time and it’s disgusting. Save our Greenbelt! Save our future!
