I am amazed at the undemocratic, unethical and deceitful proposal to destroy large parts of the incredibly important Greenbelt. Undemocratic as this government is using it so-called majority (only 18% of eligible voters supported this government) to ram through this ill-conceived proposal. This proposal is not based on science or fact, rather a complete disregard for the environment; an environment that we all depend on for our survival. The myth of perpetual economic and population growth underpins this government's ideology must be assigned to the dustbin of history. We need solutions to our pressing problems (i.e. housing demand) that acknowledge we are part of nature and must live within our means. Building in flood plains and continued sub-urban spall will not create vibrant, safe or sustainable communities. Climate change! Heard of it?

Stop this madness. The Premier lied during the last election saying his government would not touch the Greenbelt. If the current government can't lead Ontario to a sustainable and equitable future, it should step aside. We need new solutions from real leaders.
