The original development of the boundaries for the Greenbelt were thorough, methodological, science based and involved a tremendous amount of consultation. The selection of many of the properties in this list appear to be to directly support friends of the conservative party and in particular Doug Ford. It is disgusting and unforgivable for a government to take such an obviously partisan approach to gut the Greenbelt. Further, the blatant attempt to reduce criticism by adding other lands that are nowhere near as high quality for protecting the groundwater aquifers and natural corridors will not match the damage done by developing most of these properties.
