"I do not support any ammendment to allow any development in the Greenbelt. This jeopardizes the entire Greenbelt, as soon as we start to allow development the greed of profit will continue to spiral until we have no green space. When we start to pave over our green space we are walking down a slippery slope with increased flooding as water has no where to be absorbed as well as impacting our climate.

Municipalities submitted their growth plans that accommodate growth until 2051. Hamilton passed that they did not want the urban sprawl so listen to the people. This land is not needed. Plan land use wiser and treat land like the finite resource that it is. Even the Housing Affordabilty Task Force said that a lack of land is not the issue. There is much space within core cities with fallen down or boarded up buildings that could be easily used to convert to housing. It would in fact make our city look more appealing. Just drive the inner core and see all the boarded up places that could be used.

Development is the Greenbelt violates indigenous Charter rights, as indigenous communities do not support this ammendment and they were not properly consulted. Again cities do not support it - Hamilton was very clear on this fact.

The Greenbelt must be left alone and protected !! As stated above build compact, walkable, public-transit feasible, sustainable communities within the existing city space as there is ZERO need to take our green space .

You DO NOT have this household’s support and will definitely be losing all our support to the Conservative party moving forward. Be honourable and listen to the people. STOP THE URBAN SPRAWL!!!!!
