As a PC voter, I am disappointed with Doug Ford's proposal to rezone the greenbelt. This could have serious implications for Ontarians, particularly those living in rural areas. The greenbelt is a vital part of our environment, providing necessary protection for endangered species, preserving agricultural land and protecting our natural heritage. Not to mention it helps to reduce urban sprawl, air and water pollution, and acts as a green barrier to protect us from extreme weather events. Re-zoning could have long-term negative impacts on Ontarians, and I strongly oppose this suggestion.
