The idea behind green energy projects is to displace conventional nonrenewable sources. How can the Province reduce GHG emissions without replacing these power sources? This seems to be a very short sighted approach given the rapidly falling prices of power from renewable sources. This plan will eventually cost ratepayers more.
Rather than refurbishing nuclear facilities the Province should be looking at green energy projects and means of storage to offset the supply / demand imbalance.
The Province should also be factoring in the cost to the environment and residents of not taking action to reduce GHG emissions.
